In Need Of A Reset?
Nature. Oh glorious nature. What a beautiful yet mysterious wonders of the world. I love nature not in the way where I want to spend the night under the stars, but more I appreciate it. Whenever I'm having a bad day or I feel tired I go outside, look at the nearest plant and admire it. I feel renewed when I've spent some time in nature. I don't need a weekend camping, no, no, no. I just need a twenty minute walk outside. I need to see the vibrant colors of the grass, the majestic flow of flowers that sway in the wind, a slightly breeze on my face. Talk about a battery reset. No medicine, glass of wine, or yoga class can make me feel the way nature does. You don't have to be a nature buff or outdoor enthusiast to appreciate the world that was here before you and will be here when you're gone. The planet's original inhabitants: flowers, trees, bushes, grass, etc. You have to admit there is something magical about it.
Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, a spiritual teacher and author talked of how we stress about what we do in our daily lives. He gave us the idea that when developing in our mothers womb, we didn't worry or stress about what we were going to look like. We didn't think, well, I sure hope my fingers grow in or why don't I have a nose yet? No, instead we just were. Developing without a single worry in the world because everything was taken care of and we knew that. He applies this concept to us as adults. He mentions if we were to sit back and trust the Universe, God, the Source, the flow of life then everything would be taken care of. No more stress or worry. Just being.
Having said that, I like to compare our lives to nature. Similar in the concept of the womb.As I mentioned before if you are in a bad mood or heard some less than satisfying news, find you way outside. Go for a walk; notice the plants, sun, sky, clouds, trees, birds, and the bugs. Feel the breeze, sunshine, or rain against on your skin. Take a minute and stop the rollercoaster of life, just be in the the moment. There, you can find strength in the smallest flower. A flower that can withstand the fastest winds, coldest rains, and hottest heat yet still remain strong and beautiful.
Nature is our number one role model. Each year the rain and snow storms brew, killing nearly any plant that isn't equipped to endure the harshest winter. The summer comes with its record breaking heat spells, drying out any flower that has sprung back up from the winter. Yet still, plants come back every year in spring to bloom more beautifully before. Have you ever heard of a plant that didn't want to grow back because it held a grudge towards winter? How about a flower that blamed the soil for the scorching heat of the summer? Do they stress about the hard times they've endured or yet to come? No, with a little bit of time and patience, the graceful blooming continues now and forever more.
So, if you're ever at a breaking point where you can't take it anymore. Go outside, get lost the beauty of a leaf, blade of grass, or the pedals of a flower. Recharge your mind and reset your soul back to its roots. Let the flower growing between the cracks of a cement sidewalk give you strength. Know you are stronger than anything thrown your way. You can get through the harshest winter too.
